Evolutio is looking for a Splunk Development Engineer to join our growing team. We are a team of business professionals and consultants who specialize in extracting value from performance and security monitoring platforms, notably Splunk and AppDynamics. We partner with Fortune 100 organizations to help them understand, in real time, how their business is being impacted by performance issues.

This permanent, full-time position is suitable for a detail-oriented individual who likes to think outside of the box, and who will enjoy the challenge of crafting high quality solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an array of Splunk apps and TAs for our clients, both premium and free. You'll be building advanced functionality like custom Splunk commands and REST API integrations in addition to simpler functionality like correlation searches.

This is not primarily a client-facing position, but you may also be called on to meet with and provide enablement for clients using these apps, or to gather requirements for new projects.

Other duties may include but are not limited to:

Mentoring co-workers on efficient Splunk use;
Maintaining a dev Splunk environment;
Writing documentation;
Working with multiple clients simultaneously;
Provide enablement to teams on technical implementations & best practices;
Communicate daily with colleagues and clients;
Solve complex problems using a variety of tools; and
Perform integrations between various technology stacks.

Qualifications and requirements

The ideal candidate should have 3 to 8 years of experience in DevOps, CloudOps, IT Ops, or Software Development. Regardless of background type, candidates should have extensive experience administering and building custom content within Splunk. Candidates should be passionately curious about how things work and how companies leverage technology to solve complex business problems. This person must also be willing to try new things.

This is primarily a remote, non-travel position, but candidates should be prepared for occasional travel for training, planning sessions, and events.

Preferred skills and experience

Expert level proficiency with Python
Experience as a Splunk Admin or Splunk Consultant
Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security
Experience with any of the major public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience developing against Splunk APIs
Familiarity with Git
Experienced in shell scripting
Splunk Certified Developer preferred, but not required
Flexibility to operate in an environment with changing demands and priorities
Self-driven to dig deeper into technical issues in complex technical eco-systems
A self-starter with the ability and confidence to independently resolve issues and bring results back to the team
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Troubleshooting and problem-solving experience with the ability to work autonomously
